OUR STORY

How it all began...

In February 1978, fifteen men from the surrounding community felt led to establish a church. During the initial meeting, these men pledged in writing the amount they could give towards purchasing land for the new church. When the pledges were totaled, the amount equaled the cost of the needed property to the exact dollar.

Initially, a two-story building was built to accommodate worship services, with Sunday School rooms and a fellowship hall in the basement. The exterior of the first building measured 40 feet by 90 feet.

Within the first ten years, the church outgrew this original facility and needed more space.

Expanding the vision...

To continue to endeavor to honor and glorify the Lord and to bring souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, construction on the Christian Life Center was started by the end of the 1990s. The Christian Life Center (CLC) facility is approximately 32,000 square feet of space. The new facility houses a new Fellowship Hall, a full-size basketball/volleyball court, a multi-purpose event floor, exercise facilities, an indoor walking track, and additional space for education. On November 19, 2000, the Fellowship Hall was dedicated while construction continued in other areas of the facility.

Due to continued congregational growth, Sunday morning worship services were temporarily moved from the original worship auditorium to the Christian Life Center gym area. This required the church members to set up and take down seats and stage area each week for many years to accommodate both worship services and recreational ministries. The original sanctuary was converted into space for the youth (The Rock) and college ministries.

As worship was held in the Christian Life Center temporarily, plans were developed for a new worship center. Thanks be to God, groundbreaking for the new facility occurred on February 10, 2013, and services were held for the first time on October 19, 2014. In addition to housing a new auditorium for worship services, the new facility also houses a new nursery/preschool ministry facility (Foundations) and children's ministry area (The Firehouse).
In the late 1980s, a separate fellowship hall was constructed on the south side of the existing church. As the church continued to grow, this recently added space was quickly outgrown. Additional space was then added to this area to accommodate the growing congregation's needs.

In the early 1990s, the church was again experiencing a need for more space. This time, there was a need for more educational area. To satisfy this need, a classroom wing was added across the back of the original church building adding an additional 8,000 square feet. In addition to the added educational space, the auditorium was extended by twenty-five feet for more worship space. Although this temporarily satisfied the need for more space, plans were already being considered for the church's future growth.
